Pitt’s 22nd-ranked gymnastics team hits the road for a quad meet at Penn State on Saturday night against Iowa and Rutgers. The meet is set to begin at 7 p.m.
The meet marks the first time Pitt and Iowa have met, while the Nittany Lions and Scarlet Knights are annual opponents, with Rutgers being a member of the EAGL.
“Here we go,” said head coach Debbie Yohman. “This is the kind of meet you train for — great competition, great fans, there is a lot of motivation. We will have a little bit of a lineup shuffle, possibly, because Haley Sedgewick, our top all-arounder from last week, is having some back problems and is day-to-day. We have Brittney Harris, who is on her way back from injury, and Nicole Pearson stepping in to help. Everyone else just needs to do what they’ve been doing and we’ll see what we’re made of!”
The Panthers enter the weekend ranked for the first time at No. 22 in the latest GymInfo poll after scoring a 195.650 in last weekend’s quad meet vs. Maryland, Temple and Cornell. Pitt’s score ranks as the sixth-best all-time and is the best Pitt team score since the 2004 season.
Live scoring for the meet as well as live video can be viewed.
