Pitt senior Andrea Arlotta earned EAGL honors for the second consecutive week as she was announced Co-Gymnast of the Week today. The league's other honoree was North Carolina's Christine Robella. Arlotta led the Panthers to a 3-0 sweep over Rutgers, Yale and SUNY Brockport last weekend.
Competing in her second meet this season as an all-arounder, Arlotta (Cincinnati, Ohio/Northwest) earned a career-high 9.875 on the uneven bars for first place. She additionally won the floor exercise with a 9.775 and the all-around with a 39.125. Arlotta placed second on the vault with a 9.775 and third on the balance beam with a 9.700. She had the highest uneven bars score of all EAGL all-arounders last weekend and currently holds the top average in the league with a 9.808.
Arlotta has been a key contributor to the Panthers' uneven bars lineup which currently stands at 21st in the NCAA with a 48.492 average. Individually, she ranks 39th in the nation. The team will head to No. 18 Penn State on Saturday for an annual meet with the Nittany Lions.
