Pitt gymnastics will compete in a rare Monday night meet on the road at Maryland in a quad meet against the Terrapins, Towson and George Washington at 7 p.m. All four teams in the meet are members of the East Atlantic Gymnastics League.
"It has been an interesting week," said head coach Debbie Yohman. "Haley Sedgewick (ankle sprain) will be out of the line-up for a while after landing short in warm-ups at UNC. Then on Monday, freshman walk-on Kelly Burak, who has been putting up big scores for us on beam and floor, injured her knee so we've lost her for the remainder of the season.
"We have pushed really hard to find the next person to step up and fill in and the solid parts of each squad have continued to work hard on details. We have had two in-gym `meets' this week and things seem to be lining up nicely. So I can't wait to put this group out on the floor on Monday to see what they can do!"
Pitt enters the meet with a 3-1 overall record and 2-1 in EAGL action. Pitt's season average score leads all opponents in Monday night's meet with a 193.575.
