Pitt vs. Penn State meet notes
The Pitt gymnastics team will host in-state rival Penn State Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House for their annual Think Pink meet, which will help to raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer.
The Panthers (3-4, 1-2 EAGL) are coming off a quad meet win in which they defeated No. 13 Iowa State, East Atlantic Gymnastics League foe Rutgers and Brockport with a 195.175. Sophomore Alicia Talucci (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) was named the EAGL Gymnast of the Week for her efforts in an all-around victory in the meet. Teammate Meaghan Biros (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) earned Rookie of the Week honors after posting a career high on the uneven bars with a 9.775.
No. 15-ranked Penn State is coming off a win over No. 23 Illinois last weekend in which senior Brandi Personett took the all-around title with a 39.600.
