Pitt gymnastics heads on the road for a Friday quad meet at NC State with Maryland and William & Mary at 7 p.m.
“Our line-up is pretty solidified right now, and fairly consistent in what we’re producing,” said head coach Debbie Yohman. “We just keep on fighting for those higher scores. And of course, this week we’ll be looking for a bit of redemption – not only against NC State but vs. Maryland. NC State always competes tough on their home floor, but both teams had similar problems this past meet and we were very close. Both teams will be gunning for each other again. And it will be Pitt vs. Maryland on a neutral floor – which could be fun. And we cannot forget about William & Mary – I’m looking forward to seeing them as they seem to be a much improved squad this season.”
The Panthers are coming off a home meet against the Wolfpack in which they scored their highest mark of the season with a 195.050. Additionally, they tied for second all-time in team event scores on the vault (49.125) and beam (49.100).
N.C. State is coming off the win over Pitt with a score of 195.450. Maryland scored a 194.925 to earn a win at home against EAGL competitor North Carolina and William & Mary took second in a tri meet against New Hampshire and Towson, scoring a 192.300.
