PITTSBURGH - The Pitt gymnastics team has placed nine on its East Atlantic Gymnastics League All-Academic Team, announced by the league this week.
Senior Lisa Taylor, a rehab sciences major, is a four-time member of the team. She is followed by two-time honorees Alyssa Adrian (psychology), Kori Macdonald (bio engineering) and Amy Varela (liberal studies).
Named to the all-academic team for the first time are Bri Hogan (undeclared), Brittany Marcsisin (undeclared), Katie O'Rourke (undeclared), Alexa Riech (business) and Alicia Talucci (media communications).
In order to be named to the EAGL All-Academic team, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Freshmen are eligible if they earned a 3.0 GPA or higher in the fall semester.
Awards will be presented to the honorees at the 2012 EAGL Championship Banquet this Friday, March 23, in Pittsburgh.
