Pitt gymnasts took home six All-EAGL First Team honors and added two second team honors on Friday night at the East Atlantic Gymnastics League Championships banquet in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Senior Alyssa Adrian was the big winner for the Panthers as she was named to the first team for the uneven bars and floor exercise and was additionally named as the Pitt team MVP.
Pitt’s freshmen represented well as rookie Lisa Soto earned first team honors on vault and balance beam specialist Laura Kummerle made the first team on beam. Freshman Lindsay Offutt joins Adrian and junior Katie O’Rourke as first teamers on the floor exercise. The only other school to have three first-teamers on one event is N.C. State with three on the vault.
In addition to O’Rourke’s appointment to the floor first team, she was named to the balance beam second team. Pitt’s other second team representative is junior Maya Ketner, who earned a spot on the bars team.
Pitt will compete at the EAGL Championships at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Carmichael Arena on the campus of the University of North Carolina.
