Six Pitt gymnasts have earned a spot on the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women’s 2009 Scholastic All-America team. In addition, Pitt gymnastics finished in the top 50 in team GPA with a 3.0 or higher.
Andrea Konesky (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bishop Canevin), Alix Croop (Allentown, Pa./Bridgeway Academy), Jennifer Liberato (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley), Lisa Taylor (Odessa, Fla./Tampa), Krista Rubini (Newton, Pa./Council Rock North) and Shannon McConnell (Allison Park, Pa./North Allegheny) were honored on the team, each recording higher than a 3.5 GPA.
Four of the gymnasts named will be returning to the Panther roster next season including Liberato, Taylor, Rubini and McConnell.
The NACGC/W is the national association for women’s collegiate gymnastics coaches. The association seeks to actively manage and develop the sport of women’s gymnastics at the collegiate level and works with the NCAA and USA Gymnastics in order to provide the best possible experience for student-athletes.
