Lisa is a senior rehab science major from Tampa, Florida who came to Pitt on a full Honors academic scholarship. She is a three-year letterwinner, three-year Academic All-American, last year made 1st team All-EAGL on beam and was awarded a full athletic scholarship for this year.
A new school year brings new faces, new skills and new dreams. The Pitt Gymnastics team is excited to finally have our four freshmen: Bri Hogan, Haley Bodenheimer, Haley Sedgewick and Brittany Marcsisin, and sophomore transfer Alexa Riech from the University of Denver in the gym. It has only been three weeks, but it is already evident that these five have a certain spunk about them - their personalities elicit a burning desire to win!
All of our freshmen are training to compete in the all-around. They each bring a variety of unique skills to the table: Bri does a flawless front handspring, front toss as a beam series; Haley B. competes a beautiful double Arabian dismount off bars; Brittney trains a back handspring two-foot, back layout on beam; and Haley S. has an impressive full-twisting yerchenko pike off on vault. As long as this class remains confident in themselves and their skills, success is inevitable!
Pitt Gymnastics is pleased to welcome Alexa to the team this year. She is a seasoned collegiate competitor and her experience will be vital this year as she makes her debut for the Panthers. She is a strong and talented athlete, exhibiting her skills on vault, beam and floor.
Official practice began last Thursday and Pitt Gymnastics is geared up to win! Each day brings new challenges, but we are all ready and willing to take on whatever the coaches throw at us. Each practice will bring us closer to accomplishing our goal - winning EAGLs!
One team, one heart!
Hail to Pitt!
