PITTSBURGH - Joining the Pitt gymnastics team for the 2007-08 season will be Molly Moyer of the Ricochets Gymnastics Center. Moyer is a Level 10 Junior National qualifier from Pelford, Pa.

"Molly is somebody who was under the radar," said Head Coach Debbie Yohman. "I believe this was her first year qualifying for nationals and she really did a great job on floor. She has a ton of potential and recently switched clubs and started training at a higher level. We've been watching her for awhile and have seen her come a long way and excel. This is really a plus for our vaulting and floor lineups."

At the 2006 Level 10 Junior National Championships, she tied for third in the floor exercise. Moyer also finished 12th on the vault and 22nd in the all-around. She indicated that she is excited to join onto the Pitt gymnastics program in addition to becoming part of a top-notch institution as she plans on pursuing nursing or pre-medicine.

"I chose Pitt because of the great academic opportunities," said Moyer. "The coaching staff also seemed really nice and welcoming. And the campus is really beautiful."
