COACHING: Morie Kephart joins Sue-Moy Chin's coaching staff in 2011 following a stellar four-year career as the Panthers goalkeeper from 2007-2010. Kephart will serve as a volunteer assistant coach, working as both a goalkeeper coach and a practice partner.
CAREER: Morie Kephart played in 68 career games, appeared in 60 matches as a goalkeeper for the Panthers, including 56 starts. In her four years as a goalkeeper, Kephart made 262 saves and produced 19 shutouts for the Panthers. She holds the Pitt record for career wins (19), shutouts (19) and lowest GAA (1.07). In addition, she also set three school season records in 2009 including shutouts in a season (8), lowest GAA in a season (0.47) and least goals allowed in a season (7). Kephart was a three-time Big East Academic All-Star.
2010: Started all 20 games for the Panthers at goalkeeper...recorded seven wins and six shutouts on the season...tallied three consecutive shutouts to close out the regular season and clinch the Panthers a berth in the Big East Championships...was named Big East Goalkeeper of the Week on October 25 in addition to garnering College Soccer 360's "Primetime Performer of the Week" accolades...made 83 saves and registered a 1.22 goals against average...finished the season with a .769 save pct. en route to setting the school record for career wins (19), shutouts (19) and lowest GAA (1.07).
2009: Led NCAA Division I goalkeepers with a .926 save percentage..established numerous school records: lowest goals against average in a season (.47), most shutouts in a season (8), most career shutouts (13), least career goals against average (1.02), and least career goals allowed (39)...played a key role in Pitt's defense which yielded just 11 goals on the year, tying for first in the Big East...selected as College Soccer 360's Primetime Player of the Week on Sept.14-20 following a nine-save performance in a 1-1 tie vs. West Virgnia...appeared and started in 14 games on year...played 1351:53 minutes and allowed only seven goals...completed season with 87 saves and a 0.47 goals against average...recorded eight shutouts...recorded 11 saves in 0-0 overtime tie against Marquette (Sept. 27)...tallied a career high 12 saves in 1-0 win against Connecticut (Oct. 25).
2008: Appeared in all 20 games and started 18 at goalkeeper for the Panthers...accumulated 1,738 minutes in goal...completed the season with 69 saves and a 1.14 goals against average...registered four shutouts on the year (Kent State, St. John's, Villanova and South Florida)...made a career-high seven saves and also contributed an assist on a full field punt against Penn (Sept. 5)...finished with six saves vs. St. Bonaventure (Sept. 14)...tallied five saves in four games (Iowa State, Charlotte, Connecticut and Villanova)...Big East Academic All-Star selection.
2007: Saw action in 14 games on the season including six games as a goalkeeper...started four contests at goalkeeper...accumulated 470 minutes in goal...ended season with 23 saves, one shutout and a 1.91 goals against average...also registered two shots as a field player...named a Big East Academic All-Star.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of State College High School...served as captain for the women's soccer team for three seasons and led the Lady Lions to four consecutive MAC league championships...First Team All-District selection in three straight seasons after being named to the MAC All-Freshman Team in her inaugural campaign...posted a 0.623 goals against average in 69 career games...helped State College reach the second round of the PIAA Playoffs by posting a school record .474 goals against average and a shutout percentage of 73.68 as a sophomore...honored academically for being in the top-10 percent of her class every year while at State College High School...recipient of the Principal's Award as a freshman, sophomore and junior...2006 U.S. Club National participant as well as a 2006 State Cup finalist.
PERSONAL: Born November 16, 1988...daughter of David and Patricia Kephart...both parents attended Pitt...has an older brother, Talon, and an older sister, Allurie, who plays rugby at Penn State...enrolled in the College or Arts & Sciences...health and physical activity major.
