KENT, Ohio-- The Pitt women's soccer team traveled to Kent State today where it defeated the Golden Flashes 2-1 behind a goal from Jenna Greenfield with just :07 remaining in the game. The Panthers improved to 4-2 while Kent State drops to 1-4.

 

Only :24 into the game, Kent State's Kimberly Dimitroff headed the ball 10 yards out to score the Golden Flashes first and only goal of the game.

 

With seven minutes remaining in the game, and no score on the board for Pitt, Jennifer Kritch (Northville, Mich./Northville) scored the Panthers first goal, unassisted, 20 yards out off of Kent State's right post.


 

 

 

With the game tied 1-1 and only :07  left on the clock, Kritch assisted Greenfield (New Hope, Pa./New Hope) in the Panthers game-winning goal. Greenfield shot from 12 yards out on the left side. She had a career-high four shots, including two on goal, and recorded her first career goal.  

 

The Panthers will return home this weekend when they host the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Ohio University Bobcats at Founders Field. Pitt plays West Virginia on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m., and the Bobcats on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.
