PITTSBURGH-The Panther women's soccer team got a much-needed win over Mid-Atlantic Division opponent Seton Hall on Sunday afternoon when redshirt sophomore forward Annette Agredano (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson High Magnet) scored at the 7:15 mark of the second overtime to break a scoreless tie.

Agredano's third goal of the year gave the Panthers their second win in three division games, helping their chances of reaching the Big East postseason tournament. Only the top four of seven teams make the tournament from the Mid-Atlantic and the win puts the Panthers in a tie for second place with West Virginia and Rutgers.

Cande Ruiz-Bradbury (Oxnard, Calif./Santa Clara) and Katrina Shibata (Lakewood, Calif./Mayfair) picked up assists on Agredano's goal. For Ruiz-Bradbury, it was her 10th career assist, putting her one behind Charity McClure for first place on the Panthers' all-time assists list.

Pittsburgh outshot Seton Hall, 19-12, including a 12-4 margin in the first half. Panther goalkeeper Rachel Brown (Burnley, England/St. Christopher's/Alabama) earned her second shutout in four games this season and made five saves. Brown was named Big East Goalkeeper of the Week for the week of Sept. 17-23 for her efforts against Georgetown and No. 21 Auburn. She was also selected as the Big East Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year before the season started.

The win over the Pirates was the second consecutive 1-0 decision at home for the Panthers, who won by the same score in 1999 but that game did not go into overtime. It was the Panthers' first victory in overtime since defeating Arizona, 2-1, on Sept. 8, 2000.

The Panthers will play their next four games and six of their next seven on the road. The road trip begins on Fri., Oct. 5 when they visit Villanova and two days later, Pittsburgh will be at Rutgers. Both games will count in the Mid-Atlantic Division standings.
