PISCATAWAY, N.J.—Rutgers scored in the game’s final 10 minutes to hand the Pitt women’s soccer team a close 1-0 loss on Friday night at Yurcak Field.

The two programs headed into halftime tied at 0-0. Despite being outshot 9-2 in the opening period, the Panthers held the Scarlet Knights scoreless in the first half with a strong defensive effort, led by Pitt goalkeeper Morie Kephart. Kephart would finish the game with four saves.
