STORRS, Conn.-- The Pitt women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 17 Connecticut, Friday night in Storrs, Connecticut. The loss puts Pitt 6-7-0 on the season and 1-5-0 in the Big East, while Connecticut improves to 9-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 in Big East play.
Following a tight 30 minutes of play, Elizabeth Eng scored her first goal for Connecticut giving it a 1-0 lead.
Eng scored her second goal in the 42nd minute after taking a pass from Kacey Richards, putting the score at 2-0 before the half.
After halftime, Connecticut grabbed a 3-0 lead in the 49th minute when Meghan Cunningham scored on a pass from Erin Clark.
The Huskies final goal came from Eng in the 65th minute, ending the game at 4-0.
Connecticut's defense limited the Panthers to only five shots, while Pitt's Morie Kephart (State College, Pa./State College) recorded four saves.
The Panthers will stay on the road for a matchup against Providence on Sunday, Oct. 14, at
