PITTSBURGH-Redshirt sophomore forward Annette Agredano (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson High Magnet) became the fourth player in Panther women's soccer history to score three goals in a game as the Panthers routed St. Francis (Pa.), 4-0, at Founders Field in Indianola, Pa.

Agredano added her first assist of the season for a seven-point game and tied former Panther Charity McClure for the most goals in a half. It didn't take long for her to tally her fifth goal of the season as she headed a ball off a corner kick past Red Flash goalkeeper Allison Tidball just 5:41 into the game. Cande Ruiz-Bradbury (Oxnard, Calif./Santa Clara) touched it first with a header as she and Kimberly Sturk (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) scored assists on the play.

With 9:17 remaining in the first half, Agredano scored her second goal of the game on a blast from eight yards out that went inside the right post past Tidball. Freshman Cara Senger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic) scored her first collegiate point with an assist on the play.

The Panthers then scored twice in a span of 27 seconds towards the end of the half. Agredano netted her third goal at 43:53 on a shot from 15 yards out that again found the inside right corner. Midfielder Lauren Sciocchetti (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) got her first point of the season on an assist. Senior Andrea Graybill (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) notched the first goal of her career at 44:20 on a header from Agredano and Melissa Smith (Lakewood, Colo./Bear Creek).

Pittsburgh outshot St. Francis (Pa.), 14-3, in the first half and added a 6-5 margin in attempts in the second half. Panther goalkeepers Rachel Brown (Burnley, England/St. Christopher's/Alabama) and Gretchen Ross (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler Area) combined to shut out the Red Flash. Brown had three saves and Ross added one in 13:30 of play.

Agredano's seven points were the third most by a Panther player in one game. She now has seven goals on the season, which tied her for the second most in one year and her 12 career goals is second in Panther annals, trailing just Ruiz-Bradbury (17). She led the Panthers with seven shots, while Sciocchetti and Sturk added three apiece.

Pittsburgh will travel to Connecticut for two games this weekend, playing the UConn Huskies on Oct. 19 in Storrs and then will play at Fairfield on Oct. 21. Pittsburgh is now 6-6-1 on the season, its second best start in six years of competition.
