LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- The Pitt women's soccer team fell to Louisville 1-0 after 110 minutes of play in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Thursday at Cardinal Park. Pitt concludes its season 8-8-3 overall and 3-7-2 in the BIG EAST while Louisville improves to 13-4-1 overall and 7-3-1 in the conference. The Cardinals advance to face top-seeded West Virginia in the quarterfinal round on Sunday, Oct. 29.

The two teams battled for 106 minutes until Jamie Craft scored the game-winning goal. Craft's goal was her ninth on the season. Jen Avila and Heather Engel registered assists on the goal. Craft gathered a pass, turned and shot a rocket from 35-yards out. The ball soared right under the crossbar of the Panther goal, giving the Cardinals the 1-0 victory.
