PITTSBURGH--A doubleheader with both West Virginia and Ohio State highlights the University of Pittsburgh 2013 spring women's soccer competition schedule, announced on Friday by head coach Greg Miller.
The Panthers will compete in six different spring events beginning with a 7v7 tournament at the Robert Morris Dome on February 24, 2013 (9 p.m.-midnight). Pitt will host Canisius on March 23 for its first regular spring game, then Marshall on Saturday, March 30.
On Saturday, April 13, the Panthers will host a back-to-back doubleheader against both West Virginia and Ohio State at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. Pitt concludes its spring season by welcoming back its alumni for a scrimmage on April 21 at Petersen Sports Complex. Alumni playing will be announced at a later date.
The 2013 season will be Miller's second season as Pitt's head coach. In 2012, Pitt won its final two games, finished 7-10-2 overall and 2-6-2 in the Big East. Pitt will enter Atlantic Coast Conference competition next season.
