PITTSBURGH--The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer program signed 12 student-athletes to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Greg Miller announced on Thursday. Pitt's recruiting class was ranked as the nation's No. 14 women's soccer class by It is arguably the best women's soccer recruiting class in school history.

Representing two countries in the United States (8) and Canada (4) and five different states (3-Pennsylvania, 2-California, 1-Virginia, 1-Ohio, 1-Colorado), all 12 members of the 2014 Pitt women's soccer recruiting class will enroll at Pitt this summer with winning backgrounds.

Three student-athletes--Shaina Ashouri, Malea Fabean and Seyla Perez--have graduated high school early and are already enrolled in classes at the University of Pittsburgh. Five players have international experience while representing their respective countries.

"The 2014 class of 12 is a special group of talented young women filled with athletes, soccer players and great people of character," Miller said. "We couldn't be happier to have them join our family here at Pitt.  They will help grow our program, be great students, and ambassadors of the athletic department and university.  Every class is unique in their own way and this group is no different!  They will inject much needed depth, speed, and skill that'll make us more competitive in the ACC."

"Again, credit our staff for helping put together a great class that addresses a lot of very specific needs we had. It's nice they are receiving some national recognition as a ranked recruiting class from one publication. These players all know how much work still needs to be done before they get to Pitt to best prepare themselves to compete in this incredible league."

In addition to the 12 signees, Pitt returns 17 letterwinners from last year's squad in Miller's second year as head coach.

Following is a roster and biographical sketches on each of the 12 signees.
