Three student-athletes named to the women's soccer team.

Pittsburgh, PA - The University of Pittsburgh’s women’s soccer head coach, Sue-Moy Chin, proudly announces the incoming freshmen class of 2005.  In the fall Kristy Fultz, Jennifer Kritch and Erin Myers will join the Panthers.  All three players have extensive playing experience at the state and or national levels.

Kristy Fultz (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South) is a member of the nationally ranked Ohio Premier Club system.  A center midfielder and defender, Fultz, helped Ohio Premier capture the State Cup Championship in 2002, 2003, and 2004.  Fultz has also been a member of the Region II Regional team since 1987 and has participated at the US National Camps in 2001 and 2002.  Fultz is also a standout in the classroom where she is a four year academic letter winner, member of the National Honor Society and honor roll student.

Jennifer Kritch (Northville, MI/Northville) is a seven year member of the Michigan Hawks Club.  At the midfield position, Kritch helped the Hawks claim back to back club State Championships in 2003 and 2004.  At the state level, Kritch was named to the Michigan Olympic Development State team in 2004.  Also in 2004, Kritch and her Northville high school team won the 2004 State Championship.  That same year she was named as an All-District player after being an honorable mention recipient in 2003. During the 2003 campaign, Kritch only played half of the season due to an injury however she was the third leading goal scorer with 11 goals.  Her 11th goal of the season came as the game-winning goal in the State Championship game.

Erin Myers (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson) has experience playing defense, midfield and offense with her high school and club teams. During her high school career she registered 15 goals and 28 assists (58 total pts) which helped take her team to the Region Championships in 2002 and the Region Semi-Finals in 2003.  Myers’ talent did not go unrecognized as she earned numerous awards from the state and county. Myers has been named to the Montgomery Journal, Montgomery Gazette and Montgomery County All-County first team for the past two years (2003, 2004).  The Washington Post named Myers All-Met honorable mention for both the 2003 and 2004 seasons. In 2003 Myers was named All-State honorable mention, then in 2004 made the All-State second team.  In addition to high school competition, Myers plays club soccer for the SWYA Predators and has participated in the Maryland Olympic Development Program and Region I Regional camp for three years.

“All of these players come from very successful programs and are used to winning.  They are talented hard working players and are tough competitors.  I think their addition will compliment the team very nicely,” said head coach Sue-Moy Chin. “I am anxious for the fall season to get underway.  The growth of the program has been great so far and with the addition of our 2005 class, it’s going to only get better.”
