PITTSBURGH—The Pitt women’s soccer team (1-2-0,0-0-0) will take to the pitch at Founders Field for the first time this season as it hosts both Pennsylvania and Charlotte this weekend. The Panthers have not lost a home opener since 1999 and will look to continue the streak as they take on the Penn Quakers on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. The contest will be just the second meeting for the two schools with Pitt leading the series (1-0-0).

Pitt will attempt to continue the momentum from its 4-1 win over Iowa State at the University of Illinois Tournament on Aug. 31. In that first victory of the regular season, junior forward Ashley Habbel (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenxville) netted two goals to move into third on Pitt’s all-time career scoring list.

The Panthers will return to Founders Field on Sunday, Sept. 7 to face the Charlotte 49ers.
