PITTSBURGHThe Pittsburgh Women’s Soccer team used a solid offensive performance to defeat visiting University of Maryland-Baltimore County 3-1 Saturday at Founders Field in Indianola, Pa.

The Panthers’ offense ignited in the ninth minute of play as senior Netta Agredano (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson High Magnet) took a feed from teammates Sara Gutting (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Corina Sebesta (Catasauqua, Pa./Catasauqua), to finish the ball past the committed Retriever goalkeeper Robin Babaris. Gutting and Sebesta each earned an assist on the goal.

Robinson Secondary) pounded a free kick into the box to the open foot of forward Jen DeLaHoz (Amawalk, N.Y./Somers), blasted the ball into the net for a quick 2-0 lead. DeLaHoz notches her second goal of the season as well as her first game winning goal as the Retrievers would get on the board with a penalty kick from Missy Moore in the 71st minute of play.

The final Panther goal came when Agredano pushed the ball deep into the UMBC zone and controlled the ball before dropping it off to Hills, who hit a 22-yard chip shot into the top right corner of the net. The duo of Agredano and Hills finished with a goal and an assist each.
