PITTSBURGH–The University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer team falls to the University of Connecticut 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Founders Field. The Panthers drop to 4-6-1, while the Huskies advance to 7-2-2.
Huskies first goal of the contest came when goalkeeper Erin Rice punted the ball down field. Kristen Graczyk took the pass and scored from 10-yards out. At the 87:00 mark, Graczyk scored her second goal of the game from 1-yard out. Jessica Gjertsen scored the Huskies second goal in the 71st minute.
Panther forward Netta Agredano (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson Magnet) attempted a penalty kick late in the first half that was barely stopped by the Husky goalkeeper. Agredano finished with a team high five shots. Pittsburgh goalkeeper Jamie Pelusi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) registered a season high nine saves.
The Panthers are next in action Friday when the face Seton Hall at Founders Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
