Women's Soccer Drops 2-1 Decision to Seton Hall

PITTSBURGH–Erin Hills (Burke, Va./James A. Robinson Secondary) registers her third goal of the season as the University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer team drops a hard fought, physical contest to Seton Hall University 2-1 Friday night at Founders Field. The Panthers drop to 4-7-1(1-1-0) while the Pirates advance to 4-7-1 (1-2-0).
The Panthers had the edge early in the game when Hills scored the first goal of the contest at the 36:08 mark on a direct kick that buzzed past Pirate goalkeeper Buffy Wojiciehowski. Aubrey Ellezy scored late in the second half for the Pirates when she took a pass from Rita Massot and booted the ball into the center of the net. Big East Co-Rookie of the Week, Rita Massot, scored the game winning goal on an open net shot in the 88th minute of play.
Even though the Panthers out shot Seton Hall 14-10, Wojiciehowski was able to keep the Panther offense in check.
The Panthers are next in action Sunday when the face Rutgers at Founders Field. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
