PITTSBURGH--The University of Pittsburgh Women's Soccer program will host a pair indoor day camps this winter at the Charles L. Cost Center and a pair of outdoor multi-day camps this summer at the Petersen Sports Complex.
Pitt women's soccer coach Greg Miller and staff will first offer two College Prospect ID Camps aimed towards players at the high school level and then two summer camps for different age and skill levels.
"The first two clinics are designed for the player who has a desire to play at the highest level of soccer," Miller said. "The summer camps are aimed more towards perfecting individual skills on the field. Participants will get numerous touches on the ball and have a great couple days of soccer."
The first College Prospect ID clinic will be held on Saturday, December 8th and the second on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Both indoor camps will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Charles L. Cost Center. Players will learn both tactical and technical components of the game that are needed to play at the collegiate level. The Pitt coaching staff as well as current Panthers players will lead the clinic.
During the summer, Pitt will offer two, four-day youth outdoor camps. These camps will include a different technical skill theme each day, a swimming pool break after lunch, soccer tennis, three-on-three tournaments, small-sided games, current Pitt soccer player demonstrations, along with various fun games.
The first summer camp will run from Sunday, June 16, 2013 to Wednesday, June 19 during the evening. It will be held at the Petersen Sports Complex from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This clinic is for all players entering grades 8 through 12.
The second summer camp will be held during the day on Monday, June 17 and continue through Thursday, June 20. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. and take place at the Petersen Sports Complex. The Pitt coaching staff as well as current players will lead the clinic.Pitt will also host a Team Camp in July which will be an overnight camp. Details on team camp will be announced at a later date.
