Pitt Softball Earns 400th Program Win; Has Record Breaking Day Against Syracuse

The Panthers took down the Orange 8-6 and 22-7 respectively, leading to multiple broken records.

2000: Nikki Gasti led the Panthers in wins (10), innings pitched (130), games started (20), and strikeouts (97) in her first season as a Panther...made 25 total appearances on the year...pitched a team-leading 14 complete games...hurled a four-hit, one-run game, while striking out a season-high eight batters to lead Pittsburgh to a 6-1 victory over Rutgers (4/9/00).

High School: Was a member of the state champion and four-time section champion team at Carmichaels High...voted the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Player of the Year in 1998...twice named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All Star team...four-time Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Athlete of the Week...four-time Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Washington/Greene Player of the Year...chosen as a Fox 53/Tribune Review Athlete of the Week...Greene County Messenger of the Year in 1998 and 1999...honored guest at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Dapper Dan dinner...received the Special Recognition Award at the Washington/Greene County Coach of the Year banquet...played for the Pittsburgh Patriots (three years)...member of the National Honor Society.
