2004: Howard played in 47 games for the Panthers as a freshman and made 33 starts in the outfield...scored 19 runs to tie for fourth on the squad and was second in stolen bases with 10 in 14 attempts...was walked a school-record four times in a win over Cleveland State (March 5)...had two steals against Columbia on March 28 and went 2-for-3 at the plate, matching a season high for hits...a Big East Academic All-Star.
HIGH SCHOOL: Howard led North Allegheny High School to the 2002 section, WPIAL, and Pennsylvania state championships and the 2003 section and WPIAL titles...a two-time first team all-section selection...batted .307 as a senior for the Tigers...a member of the Pittsburgh Spirit and Pittsburgh Patriots traveling teams...an all-around athlete, Howard was a first-team forward for the North Allegheny field hockey team...a National Honor Society member.
