2011: Alyssa O'Connell garnered All-Big East third team honors in her senior year...ranked among the NCAA Division I top-50 in shutouts...set the single-season win percentage record at .750...tied the single-season record for shutouts (seven) when she held Villanova scoreless in an eight-run game (May 7)...set a team record for shutouts in a season (14) with that same win...led the Panthers with a career-high 15 wins...tied for second overall in single-season wins...moved into fourth in career victories (37)...ranked third overall in career ERA (2.16) and fourth in career shutouts (10)...struck out a season-high 12 batters against South Carolina State (March 11)...threw two mercy-rule shutouts during the Buccaneer Classic and was named to the tournament's All-Star team (March 11-13)...named Big East Pitcher of the Week (March 15) for her efforts...earned Big East weekly honors twice (March 21 and April 25)...pitched a one-hitter against Delaware (March 19)...recorded 10 strikeouts against St. John's (April 21)...yielded only one hit against Rutgers (April 30).
2010: O'Connell recorded her first-career no-hitter against St. Francis...that was the seventh-ever no-hitter in the program's history and she became just the fifth Panther to accomplish that feat...posted career-highs in mostly every pitching category, wins (12), starts (23), complete games (12) and innings pitched (165)...led Pitt with 113 strikeouts and three shutouts...pitched her first-ever seven inning shutout against Minnesota on Feb. 19... had a career-high nine strikeouts against Georgetown...earned Big East Weekly Honor Roll on March 22 for her work at the JMU Invitational...recorded her first save of the season against Villanova on April 3...earned Big East Weekly Honor Roll on April 13 for a 3-1 record the week prior.
2009: O'Connell started eight games after appearing in five games last season...her 9-6 record put her in first place in the record books for single season win-loss percentage (.600)...struck out a career-high six batters against Loyola (Ill.)...recorded five strikeouts and allowed only three hits in seven innings against Alabama State...finished the season with a 2.59 ERA in 89.1 innings...her two saves on the season marked the highest on the pitching staff and ties her for fifth place in single-season saves.
2008: O'Connell made five appearances on the mound during her freshman year...pitched 12.1 innings for a 1.70 ERA...struck out 11 batters swinging, including two batters in the sixth inning to end the game against Akron...pitched her first-career complete game in an 8-2 victory over Youngstown State.
High School: O'Connell was named first team All-Olympic Colonial Conference four times...four-time All-Parochial team selection...All-South Jersey selection as a junior...Olympic Colonial Carpenter Cup First Team honoree as a sophomore and senior...First Team All-adidas selection as a junior...set the Cherry Hill record for strikeouts...jersey No. 21 was retired at the completion of her high school career...member of the three-time Olympic Conference Champion team...received the Presidents Award for academic achievement as a senior.
