PITTSBURGH - Due to cold temperatures throughout the week, the doubleheader on Saturday between Pitt and North Carolina at Vartabedian Field has been pushed back to 4 p.m. to allow extra time for the field to thaw.
With the temperatures in the 60's on Friday and the same expected on Saturday, the field should be in fine playing conditions, but the adjustment of time will give the field a couple of extra hours for maximum playing conditions.
Pitt and North Carolina are scheduled to play a three game series beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The second game on Saturday will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Sunday's finale will start at Noon.
Pitt (8-11, 0-3 ACC) is hosting its first ever ACC series this weekend against the Tar Heels (11-11, 5-1 ACC). Fan can watch, follow live stats, and get in-game updates by following @PittSoftball on Twitter.
