COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Pittsburgh softball team will play its final ACC series of the season this weekend when the Panthers take on Maryland in College Park. The doubleheader on Saturday and the series finale on Sunday are both slated to begin at 1 p.m at Maryland Softball Stadium.
The Panthers will enter this weekend’s matchup after a tough 5-1 loss to non-conference opponent Ohio State but look to finish the season strong against the Terps.
Maryland enters the three-game series after being swept by nationally ranked ACC opponent Notre Dame. This weekend’s series will be Maryland’s final contests ever in the ACC as they will become a part of the Big Ten in the 2015 season.
Neither team will advance to the ACC tournament, which is set to begin next week at Maryland, as only the top eight teams in the standings compete. Pitt currently ranks ninth in the ACC standings above No. 10 Maryland.
