PITTSBURGH-The Panthers' women's swimming and diving team earned its first Big East victory with a 148-91 win over Syracuse at Trees Pool on Saturday afternoon.

Pittsburgh (2-1, 1-1 Big East) won nine of the 13 events, including both diving and both swimming relays, over the Orangewomen.

It was Jen O'Brien (Verona, Pa./Penn Hills) that did the damage for the Panthers in the diving events, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter with 267.45 and 256.74 points, respectively.

The 400 medley relay team of Carolyne Savini (Egg Harbour Township, N.J./Holy Spirit), Ryan Redman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills), Kristina DeWitt (Houston, Texas/Stratford) and Jenny Livingstone (Endwell, N.Y./Union-Endicott) took its second consecutive race with a time of 3:54.65 after the diving events had ended.

At the end of the meet, Livingstone teamed up with Lindsay Weaverling (Lansing, Kan./Leavenworth), Lisa Sappey (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) and Karen Thibodeau (Waterloo, Ontario/Bluevale Collegiate) to win the 400 freestyle relay in 3:35.67, almost four seconds faster than Syracuse's top team.

Savini and Emily Colley (Pace, Fla./Pace) won two races apiece to help the Panthers to their second consecutive victory over the weekend. Savini won the 200 IM (2:07.49) and 100 free (53.13), while Colley took the two distance freestyle events.
