JUNIOR (2008-09)
Shannon Benic stepped into the starting singles lineup in the spring season...secured the first singles point for Pitt in the Big East Championship as Pitt upset Cincinnati in the first round...recorded her first win of the spring against George Mason...gave Pitt a 3-2 lead with a win over Nova Southeastern...had a seven-match win streak with doubles partner Christie D'Achille...ended the season with 20 combined victories.

SOPHOMORE (2007-08)
Saw limited action as a reserve for Pitt...compiled a 7-6 singles record.

Benic was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference Honorable Mention selection, playing one season at John Carroll before transferring to Pitt...posted an 18-2 record in singles action and an 18-1 record in doubles competition...led her team to the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship.

Benic earned 10 varsity letters in four different sports in high school; tennis, soccer, basketball and lacrosse...won Class AA district (WPIAL) doubles in tennis as a sophomore...placed fourth overall in doubles in the state championships (PIAA) as a a senior was the starting goalkeeper on the Oakland Catholic soccer team that qualified for the district playoffs...was a member of the basketball team that won the PIAA State Championship...a starting midfielder on the lacrosse team.
