The Pitt tennis team (3-5, 0-5 ACC) dropped its match to 15th-ranked Clemson (12-3, 5-0 ACC), 7-0 on Sunday at Alpha Tennis and Fitness.

Head Coach Alex Santos Comments

Clemson claimed the doubles point with an 8-2 win on court two and an 8-3 decision on court three. Pitt’s team of Taylor Washington and Audrey Ann Blakely were in a competitive bout at No. 1 with 33rd-ranked Yana Koroleva and Beatrice Gymulya with the point was decided and play was stopped.

Freshman Audrey Ann Blakely is coming off a singles win over the No. 40-ranked player in the country and on Sunday she almost earned a victory over the 41st-ranked player in Koroleva. Blakely dropped the first set, 6-3, but fought back in the second to win 7-6 (7-5). The third set went to Koroleva, 12-10, but Blakely held the advantage for match point twice in the set.
