NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.--The University of Pittsburgh women's tennis team suffered its second Big East loss of the season, as Rutgers also snapped Pitt's six-match win streak with a 5-2 decision on Sunday. The Panthers slipped to 9-7 on the year and 5-2 in the conference.

Prior to the Pitt-Scarlet Knight match, the Panthers last loss was back on March 12th against San Diego. The six-match win streak was the longest for the Panthers since the 2002-03 season, where Pitt won nine straight and finished 13-9.

The Panthers have been on the road since March 11, and are 6-3 in that nine-match stretch.

Despite dropping the doubles point, freshman Elizabeth Adams (Reading, Pa./Wilson) and junior Kristy Borza (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) earned an 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles. The duo improved to 15-3 on the season.

Adams later won in a tiebreaker in No. 3 singles for Pitt's second point of the match.

Senior Carlie Smith (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) garnered Pitt's first point in No. 5 singles with a 7-6 (3) and 6-4 victory. Smith has 131 combined victories, trailing slightly behind Borza's record of 135.
