The Pitt tennis team (4-5, 0-5 ACC) goes on the road this weekend for Atlantic Coast Conference matchups with No. 34 Boston College on Friday and at 6th-ranked Virginia on Sunday.
“We'll have to play our best tennis against Boston College to have a chance to be successful,” said head coach Alex Santos. “Last weekend's match made us tougher and gave us a lot of confidence. We are showing a growing ability to execute the big points in an efficient manner. The best thing about this group of girls is their intelligence and ability to learn. Every match we have played so far they have shown a great willingness and ability to keep their eyes and ears open and absorb information. It's special to see them getting closer as a group and building chemistry as the season keep progressing.”
The Panthers return to conference action after a weekend away. Pitt will be looking for its first league victory and rookie Audrey Ann Blakely will look to build on her singles ranking of No. 86.
Pitt’s match at Boston College is set for 5 p.m. and the Panthers will play at the Snyder Tennis Center at Virginia on Sunday at noon.
