PITTSBURGH -- The University of Pittsburgh women's tennis team hosts Duquesne on Wednesday, April 4 at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Club at noon.
Prior to the start of the match, Pitt head coach George Dieffenbach will honor seniors Melissa Bostwick and Minh Evans in their final home contest of the season.
Pitt (8-7) is coming off a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to California (Pa.) last week at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Club. Sophomore Taylor Washington captured her third-straight victory in No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 decision against Jade Pondicas of California (Pa.). She improved to a team best 18-7 overall in singles action.
In doubles play, freshmen Amanda Wickman and Molly Wickman earned their 15th win of the season in the No. 3 slot. The pair recorded an 8-6 victory over California (Pa.)'s Anastassiya Zherdeva and Jesse Burrell. The Wickmans has posted a win in eight of their last nine contests.
Duquesne (11-7) is coming off a 7-0 shutout victory over Youngstown State. Pitt leads the all-time series against Duquesne, 23-12.
