PITTSBURGH - The Pitt tennis team continues its fall season this weekend as they travel to the USTA Billie Jean National Tennis Center College Invite in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., Oct. 11-13.
"I feel that the girls have done a great job in practice to place themselves in the best possible position to compete at their highest level," said head coach Alex Santos. "The team understands the urgency of using every single opportunity that we have to compete to improve and to better understand our current strengths and areas of improvement. Playing at the US Open venue is unique and every tennis player's dream. We want to enjoy it while staying grounded."
Other participating teams in the three-day event are: Binghamton, Bryant, Charleston Southern, Colombia, Fairleigh Dickenson, Fordham, Harvard, Hofstra, Morgan State, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Princeton, Providence, Rutgers, Saint Francis, Saint John's, Seton Hall, Connecticut, Delaware and UT Arlington.
The Panthers wrap up their fall season next weekend at the ITA Atlantic Regional in Charlottesville, Va., Oct. 18-22.
