Prior to Pitt:
While at Bethune-Cookman, Tongue-Coates participated in the 2008 Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon...personal best in the 100M was 11.60...personal best in 100M hurdles was 14.09.

High School: Tongue-Coates was a state champion in the 400M relay and 200M her senior year...set the state record in the 200M with a time of 24.16 seconds...state champion in the 100M and second in the 200M her junior year...set state record in 100M with a time of 11.82 seconds...placed in the 55M dash, 55M hurdles and 100M hurdles at the state championships...three-time first team all-county...two-time first team All-Metro.

Personal: Born on February 27, 1990...daughter of April and Gino Tongue...has an older sister, Franchaze Waters...majoring in public service with a certificate in homeland security.
