STATE COLLEGE, Pa.—Competing in its first meet after winter break, the University of Pittsburgh women’s track and field team turned in strong performances at the PSU Northeast Challenge.
“It was our first meet after break, and I am pleased with the results,” Head Coach Alonzo Webb said. “Our sprinters and jumpers did a great job today.”
The Panthers sprint group did compete well, as three members of the squad advanced to the finals of the 60M dash. Earlier in the prelims, Mills turned in a personal-best time of 7.62. She also set a personal-best in the high jump (1.65M) with an eighth-place finish.
Earning another top-three finish, freshman Rachael McIntosh posted a 1.75M leap in the high jump. Later, she would record a ninth-place performance in the long jump (5.24M). Both marks were season-bests for McIntosh.
Next, sophomore Miya Johnson recorded a fifth-place finish in the 800M run (2:15.03).
