STATE COLLEGE, Pa.—Three Panthers record top-five finishes, as Pitt’s women’s track and field team returned from the Penn State National Open. No team scores were available.
Already qualified for the ECAC meet, junior Da’Lynn Mills turned in a third-place performance in the 200M dash, crossing the finish line at 24.24. Sophomore Cambrya Jones placed seventh in the same event at 24.55.
In other top-five finishes, sophomore Miya Johnson was third in the 800M run (2:12.64), while senior Kari Hedderick placed fourth in the 500M dash (1:15.49). Both earned a seed in the ECAC Championships, as a result.
Recording Big East qualifying times, senior Katelyn Brown finished 10th in the 400M dash (57.38), while junior Wunmi Fapohunda was 10th in the triple jump (11.45M).
Additionally, assistant coach Chantee McBride recorded a NCAA provisional finish of 2:07.93, winning the event.
The Panthers travel to New York for the two-day New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Friday, Feb. 5.
