Panthers Compete in Day One at ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh women’s track and field team began competition at the ECAC Championships in Princeton, N.J., on Friday.

Junior Elizabeth Kline got off to a fast start in the heptathlon events with top-five finishes in each of the day’s four events.

Her best finish of the day came in the shot put where she finished second with a toss of 11.33 meters.

The only other Panther to compete on Friday was freshman Brittany Lightfoot. She finished 14th with a toss of 43.61 meters in a competitive field in the discus throw.

The Panthers will return to action on Saturday before concluding competition on Sunday.
