Jan. 4, 2013

Live Results/Heat Sheets

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh men’s and women’s track teams look to continue the momentum they built prior to winter break this Saturday in their first competition of 2013 at the Penn State Relays.

Coming off the Golden Flash Gala where school records were broken and multiple personal bests were achieved, the Panthers will take a handful of student-athletes to the PSU Relays in search of similar results.

After a 1-2-3 finish in the 60 meter dash at Kent State, sprinters Funmi Alabi, Jonnique Lawrence and Ashley Woodford headline the Pitt entries in that event. Taranisha Taylor will be the lone participant for Pitt in the 60 meter hurdles.

Lawrence will double-back in the 200 meter dash as well. Also in that event will be Evann Thompson, Jordan Lee and Arielle Fonrose.

Alexandra Cady and Rachel Brown will represent the long distance crew in the 3,000 meter run, while Pitt relays are entered in the 4x200, 4x400, 4x800 and the Distance Medley Relay.

Throwers Jessica Catalano, Kalene Anderson, Haley Springman and Brittany Lightfoot will all go in the Weight Throw, while Anderson and Lightfoot are also entered in the Shot Put.

For the men, Josh Mindlin, Reggie Steele and Aaron Turner are set to run in the 60 meter dash, while Tashaun Hill will represent Pitt in the 60 meter hurdles.

Mindlin will also race the 200 meter dash with fellow teammates Dustin Fuller, Olivier Philogene and Micah Murray.

Long distance runners Rich Addison and Luke Swomley are entered for the 3,000 meter run, while the field events will have Luke Gallaher in the high jump, Brad Rocco in the pole vault, Reggie Steele in the long jump and Andrew Wells in the Weight Throw.

Like the women, the men will have relay teams entered in the 4x200, 4x400, 4x800 and the Distance Medley Relay.
