PRINCETON, N.J. – Members from the University of Pittsburgh men’s and women’s track and field team are set to participate in the ECAC/IC4A Championship Meet this weekend hosted by the Princeton Tigers the weekend at Weaver Stadium.
The Panthers tallied 16 All-Conference performers last weekend at the Big East Championship Meet, and both the men and the women will have 12 student-athletes competing this weekend.
Fresh off his Big East title in the 200 meter dash, Carvin Nkanata will try to reset his personal-record this weekend. Nkanata went sub-21 second twice last weekend in the 200, highlighted by his championship-winning and personal-record time of 20.83. He is also entered in the 4x100 with Josh Mindlin, Micah Murray and Reginald Steele IV. That is the same team who placed second last weekend at Big East.
After winning the women’s Big East heptathlon championship title and setting six personal-records in the seven event competition, Elizabeth Kline will run three events at this weekend’s championship meet. Kline will participate in the 100 and the 400 meter hurdles, and will be a member of the 4x400 meter relay team.
Jonnique Lawrence and Arille Fonrose will both participate in four events, including the 4x100 and the 4x400 meter relays. Individually, Lawrence set a career-best in the 200 meter dash last weekend, as did Fonrose in the 400 meter dash. Both will be entered in their top individual event at Princeton.
The met is set to begin on Friday, May 10th and will conclude on Sunday afternoon, May 12th. Click here for more information on the meet, including live results, schedule of events and entry lists.
