PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh track and field team's annual Blue and Gold intra squad meet ended in a tie between the two teams at 103 a piece in the Fitzgerald Field House.

"We had another solid day of performances today, which was very encouraging heading into a short week because of the thanksgiving break," Alonzo Webb said. "This weekend's performances gives the coaches and athletes a gauge of how the first twelve weeks of conditioning and training has gone and also gives us an opportunity to adjust some training issues going into our first collegiate meet at Kent state."

On the women's side, Julia Koloski highlighted the competition by winning the 300-meter with a time of 40.27. Koloski also claimed first in the long jump and the triple jump. She then went on to compete in the 60-meter dash, finishing in second and ran a leg on the 4x400M relay.

Xauddina Whittington claimed the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:17.79, while Evann Thompson captured the 600-meter in 1:34.92.

The men's side was highlighted by Josh Mindlin who crossed the finish line in the 300-meter dash with a time of 35.61. Brycen Spratling claimed second in the 60-meter dash and then won the 600-meter in 1:21.02.

In the distance events, Spratling anchored the winning 4x400M relay. Samantha Owens won the 3,000-meter with a time of 11:02.59, and Jared Mason lead the 1,000-meter in 2:34.41.

The Panthers open up competition in two weeks at the Golden Flash Gala hosted by Kent State on Friday, December 6-7.
