PITTSBURGH – Members of the University of Pittsburgh track and field team took a trip downtown to donate over 140 canned food items to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank in Market Square.
Samantha Owens, Caitlin Rolle, Jordyn Smith and Jessica Tounge-Coates of the women’s team, and Dustin Fuller and Daniel O’Toole, along with Assistant Head Coach Kia Davis and Coordinator of Track and Field Operations Darryl Weston dropped of the canned goods that the team had collected at its annual Blue-Gold meet.
Along with donating to those in need, the team was able to experience the decorations of Market Square and was able to have their picture taken in Santa’s House.
The Panthers are off until after the New Year when Pitt travels to State College for the Penn State Relays on January 11th.
