AS A JUNIOR (2006)
Diana Andreyko remained a leading outside hitter for the Panthers in 2006, recording 18 double-doubles throughout the season...an All-Big East first team selection...an AVCA All-Northeast Region selection and an All-America honorable mention...named to the all-tournament team at the Magnolia Invitational and Wildcat Classic...MVP of the Rhode Island Invitational...an All-Big East preseason unanimous selection and three-time Big East honor roll selection...set a career-high five assists against SE Missouri State (Aug. 25)...reached 1,000 career kills against Akron (Sept. 1)...led the team with 19 points and had 18 kills and 11 digs against No. 12 Tennessee (Sept. 8)...recorded 16 putaways and 14 digs against St. John's (Sept. 22)...led the team with 17 kills and had nine digs and three blocks against Villanova (Oct. 1)...had a career-high eight blocks against Cincinnati (Nov. 3)...contributed 16 kills and 15 digs in the win over Notre Dame (Nov. 11)...had 18 kills and 12 digs against Marquette in the Big East Tournament (Nov. 17)...led the team in kills (459), attacks (1,209) and points (527).
AS A SOPHOMORE (2005)
Andreyko enjoyed a stellar sophomore campaign with three all-tournament team honors to her credit...tied the then-Big East record and tied for the second-most kills in Pitt history...named to the OSU Buckeye Classic all-tournament team after posting at least 20 kills in both matches, a total of 43 putaways, 24 digs and two blocks...had eight 20-plus kill performances, including 23 versus American (Sept. 10), Duke (Sept. 17) and Notre Dame (Nov. 6)...tied the school record with eight services aces in the Panthers' win over Florida State (Sept. 3), adding 17 kills and 10 digs for one of her 12 double-doubles during the season...named to the Delaware Asics Invitational (Aug. 26-27) all-tournament team, with 55 kills and 20 digs...had a career-high 74 swings in the win over the Scarlet Knights (Sept. 25)...also added two assists, eight digs and five blocks, including three solo stuffs in the win...recorded a double-double with 22 kills and a season-high 14 digs in the four-set win over West Virginia (Oct. 14)...followed that up with double-doubles against No. 6 Louisville (Oct. 22) and Cincinnati (Oct. 23), registering 19 kills and 10 digs in each match...posted 23 kills and 11 digs for her fifth double-double in a span of six matches, and chipped in three blocks in the upset win over No. 5 Notre Dame (Nov. 6)...had her 10th double-double of the year in the loss to Connecticut (Nov. 11) with 15 kills and 10 digs...registered 14 putaways, nine digs and a block against Syracuse (Nov. 18) in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament...finished off the season with two more double-doubles with 14 kills and 11 digs against No. 24 Long Beach State (Nov. 25) and 14 kills and 12 digs plus five block assists against UC Irvine (Nov. 26)...had at least 10 kills in all but one match throughout the season...led the team in kills (516), attacks (1,352) and service aces (53).
AS A FRESHMAN (2004)
Andreyko was named Big East Rookie of the Year...was first Panther named Big East Rookie of the Year since Ann Marie Lucanie in 1990...started all 32 matches for the Panthers...posted double-digits in kills in 25 of 32 matches, including 20 or more four times...had 20 kills and 15 digs against Villanova (Oct. 24)...led the team with 29 service aces...had a season-best 22 kills against Rutgers (Nov. 5)...recorded double-doubles twice at the Pitt Classic vs. Southern Illinois (Sept. 24) and Dayton (Sept. 25)...was Big East Rookie of the Week three times (Sept. 6, 20, Nov 1)...recorded double-digits in digs 10 times...ranked third on the team in kills (413)...was an honorable mention All-Big East Team and AVCA All-Northeast Region Honorable Mention...AVCA Northeast Region Freshman of the Year.
Andreyko played for nearby Baldwin High School...earned first-team all-section, all-WPIAL, and all-state honors in her junior and senior years with the Fighting Highlanders...named to the all-tournament team at Montour in 2002 and 2003...also named to the all-tournament team in Berkley Prep, Florida, as a senior...also played club volleyball for the Pittsburgh Elite 18-1's team...led her 17-and-under club team to an 18th place finish at the 2002 AAU Nationals in Atlanta...named a PrepVolleyball.com Senior Ace.
Born December 18, 1986...daughter of Vitaliy and Lyndnyla Andreyko...moved to Pittsburgh with her parents from Novyi Rozdil, Ukraine...a sociology major.
