As a Freshman (2000) Wendy Hatlestad made a strong impact during her freshman campaign...was a unanimous selection to the Big East's All-Rookie team...was one of 14 student-athletes in the country selected to train as part of the A-2 Women's National Volleyball Team in Colorado this past summer...saw action in all 32 matches...averaged 1.83 kills per game overall and 2.14 in conference play...hit .293 in Big East play and .248 overall...averaged 0.93 blocks in league action...recorded double-figure kill totals six times...posted a career-high 18 kills at Southwest Missouri State (Oct. 14)...had 17 versus Rutgers (Nov. 5)...had a career-high 11 digs against Syracuse (Oct. 7)...stuffed a career-best eight blocks at Boston College (Oct. 1) with two solo blocks and six assists...had five blocks at Villanova (Oct. 29)...had 13 kills against Connecticut (Oct. 20) and West Virginia (Nov. 10).

High School Hatlestad was a three-year all-conference player at Roseville Area High School...was a member of the 1999 city conference championship team...named Roseville Area's Most Valuable Player as a senior...competed for Head Coach Jenny Loeck...averaged 8.0 kills and 2.0 digs per game as a senior...also was a two-time all-conference honorable mention selection for basketball and helped her team to three city conference championships...also a member of the Nike Heartland Volleyball Club out of Minneapolis, Minn....participated in the 2000 Junior Nationals.
