AS A JUNIOR (2004)
Kim Norris played in only nine of the Panthers' first 10 games before suffering a season-ending torn ACL...had four kills and two digs vs. Colorado (Sept. 9)...also posted four digs in the win vs. North Carolina (Sept. 10)...had six kills, two service aces and nine digs in the win vs. Howard (Sept. 4)...also appeared in all three matches at the Indiana Invitational (Sept. 17-18).
AS A SOPHOMORE (2003)
Norris played in 25 matches as a sophomore, starting three for the Panthers...had a career-best six blocks in Pittsburgh's 3-1 win at Miami (Nov. 2)...came off the bench to provide a spark in the upset win over No. 12 Notre Dame on Nov. 16...had a season-best 13 digs and two key service aces against the Fighting Irish...recorded a kill, three assists, two service aces and four digs in the Panthers' NCAA First Round victory over Penn (Dec. 5)...a Big East Academic All-Star and University Scholar-Athlete.
AS A FRESHMAN (2002)
Saw action in nine matches for the Panthers in her freshman campaign, making two starts...showed positive signs in the Panthers' last four matches of 2002...had a season-high 10 kills in 24 attempts in the Panthers' 3-2 win over Miami (Nov. 8)...posted season highs in assists (seven) and digs (16) and added two blocks in the 3-2 victory over Virginia Tech (Nov. 10)...recorded eight kills, 14 digs, and two blocks in the season finale at West Virginia (Nov. 16)...hit .227 with 38 kills in 88 attempts and added six service aces, including a season-best four in the 3-0 win over Long Island (Nov. 15).
Was a two-time letterwinner for Hopewell-Loudon High and led her team to state championships in 2000 and 2001...helped Hopewell-Loudon to a combined record of 57-2 in her two seasons and registered 415 kills, 63 service aces, 173 digs and 101 blocks...earned all-MAL League honors as a senior as well as second team all-district and all-state honors...did not compete as a sophomore in 1999 due to injury...competed on club teams for eight seasons, including Sen-San (1995-1997), Black Swamp (1998-2001), and the Premier team (2002)...qualified and participated in USVBA Nationals for five consecutive seasons (1998-2002)...led Black Swamp team to two Ohio Valley Region titles in 1999 and 2000...her Premier team finished third at the AAU Nationals this past season...competed for the Hopewell-Loudon basketball team and was an all-league selection...a three-year member of the National Honor Society and a four-time National Machinery Citizenship Award winner.
Born June 20, 1984...daughter of William and Wendy Norris...has two sisters, Carrie, a former volleyball player at Pitt, and Susie, who played volleyball at Bowling Green...an industrial engineering major.
