PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Panthers improved to 2-0 in the Big East Conference with a 3-2 win over visiting Seton Hall today at Fitzgerald Field House.

After dropping the first game, 30-22, to the Pirates, the Panthers rebounded to take a 30-28 win in game two and a 30-21 victory in game three. Seton Hall rallied with a 30-27 win in game four to force the final game but the Panthers prevailed, 15-13.

Pittsburgh sophomore outside hitter Wendy Hatlestad (Roseville, Minn./Roseville Area) led all hitters with 28 kills, while also adding 17 digs. Redshirt junior Dionne Hayden (Mitchellville, Md./Elizabeth-Seton) and freshman Abby Fechhelm (Roscoe, Ill./Hanonegah) also hit in double figures with 11 kills apiece. Junior setter Carrie Norris (Fostoria, Ohio/Hopewell-Loudon) recorded a double-double with 62 assists and 11 digs.

The Panthers record stands at 5-5 overall and 2-0 in the Big East. Pittsburgh returns to action Sunday, Set. 30 when it hosts St. John's at 2 p.m.
