PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Panthers volleyball team dropped a hard fought 3-1 decision to visiting Connecticut tonight at Fitzgerald Field House.

Despite the loss, junior Carrie Norris (Fostoria, Ohio/Hopewell-Loudon) had a stellar performance, recording her first career triple-double. Norris finished the match with a team and career-high 19 kills and 19 digs while also handing out 24 assists.

Connecticut captured the first game, 30-28, before Pittsburgh rebounded for a 30-28 win of its own in the second game. The Huskies took 30-22 and 30-28 wins in the final two games to take the match.

Sophomore Wendy Hatlestad (Roseville, Minn./Roseville Area) also recorded double figures in kills with 14 while also adding 14 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. Freshman Lindsey Macke (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) had her first career double-double with 26 assists and 10 digs.

The loss drops Pittsburgh's record to 5-9 overall and 2-4 in the Big East. The Panthers return to action on Sunday, Oct. 14 when they host Boston College at Fitzgerald Field House at 1 p.m.
